Every commercial electronic message will identify the sender and include a functional unsubscribe facility. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email or by contacting us. We will action unsubscribe requests as required by law.

Submitting a contact, feedback or complaint form will not automatically add you to the newsletter list. Any newsletter choice presented with another form should be separate and unchecked by default.

7. Cookies, analytics and similar technologies

The website may use cookies, pixels, local storage, server logs and similar technologies for essential functions, security, preferences, analytics and, if enabled, communications or marketing measurement. These technologies may collect information about your device and use of the website.

Where required, we will provide a choice before placing non-essential cookies. You can also restrict or delete cookies using your browser settings, although some website functions may not operate correctly. See our Cookie Policy for more information.

8. Who we disclose personal information to

We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to:

9. Overseas disclosure

Some recipients and service providers may store or process personal information outside Australia. This may include the United States for Mailchimp and other countries in which relevant Vestas group companies or technology providers operate. The countries involved can change as service arrangements change.

Where required by law, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with applicable Australian privacy requirements.

10. Security and retention

We take reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to meet project, legal, regulatory and record-keeping requirements, and to resolve disputes. We then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it where required. Backup and archival copies may remain for a limited period.

11. Access and correction

You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity. In some circumstances the law allows us to refuse access or correction; if so, we will explain the reason where required.

12. Unsubscribing and communication choices

You can unsubscribe from project emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us. Even after you unsubscribe from optional updates, we may still send non-promotional communications reasonably necessary to respond to an enquiry, manage feedback or meet legal obligations.

13. Privacy questions and complaints

If you have a question or complaint about privacy, contact us using the details in section 16 and describe the issue. We aim to acknowledge privacy complaints within five business days and provide a substantive response within 30 calendar days, although complex matters may take longer. If more time is required, we will explain why.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Information about making a privacy complaint is available on the OAIC website.
