Community Consultation
Our Consultation Commitment
Open and transparent engagement and benefit-sharing with the local community are critical to a successful project.
Vestas intends to build and operate the proposed wind farm, which means we want to be part of the community for the next generation and are committed to working hard to build strong long-term relationships with residents, businesses and organisations.
Vestas is a signatory to the Clean Energy Council’s Best Practice Charter for Renewable Energy Projects, a voluntary commitment to engage respectfully with communities, be sensitive to environmental and cultural values, and make a positive contribution to the regions in which we operate.
Our Community Engagement Strategy
We will keep community and stakeholders informed by providing timely and factual information throughout the project lifecycle.
We will identify and address community and stakeholder concerns honestly and transparently.
We will provide the means for stakeholders to communicate with us, including where to provide feedback, how to register a request to be involved in the project or how to register a complaint.
We will seek to maximise the social and economic benefit to the local community.
Local Information Centre
The project has a local information centre at 16a Patrick St, on the corner of Patrick and William Streets in Bothwell.
It is open by appointment, and provides up-to-date information, maps and photomontages, as well as the opportunity to discuss the project with members of the project team.
